ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Meghan

I'm a California native by way of the East Bay who's lived in NYC since 2011. Writing has always been my passion, even when I wasn't sure of my career path. After exploring the world of publishing and seeking out editorial roles, I realized I wanted to be the person crafting the words on the screen or the page, not just the one reading them.

I've had the chance to develop my creative writing through a variety of media and corporate sectors, from television marketing to the food and wine sphere, as well as pursue personal endeavors in short fiction and creative non-fiction.

I had the ironic good fortune (or misfortune, depending on your perspective) of having my father as my high school English teacher. He made all his students memorize Strunk & White's Elements of Style Rule #17:

"Vigorous writing is concise."

This rule, and the ideas that follow, has become my guiding principle in all my writing, along with a few other key tenets: clarity, enthusiasm, mutability, and empathetic and evocative storytelling.
